This is a beyond rare nautiloid that was found in the Oligocene of North Florida. We know of fewer than 100 of these having ever been found in Florida. This specimen is located inside of a silicified concretion as is common for Florida-found specimen. It has been expertly cut to expose the nautiloid. The inside of the specimen features beautiful droozy crystals. This is an incredibly rare specimen that displays well. These will be described as a new species by Dr. Portell at the Florida Museum of Natural History in a forthcoming paper.
