This is an absolutely world class, museum quality mastodon palate (upper jaw - maxilla/skull). This specimen was found just as you see it with no restoration or repair. One tooth is removable to examine the root structure. It is mounted on a custom armature mounted on a slab of pecky cypress that was found in the Suwannee River. This specimen features beautiful enamel coloration and fantastic patina. This is an extremely rare specimen, this is only the second mastodon palate that we have ever handled. Mastodon palates are easily 10x more rare than mandibles. This is a world class specimen that is from our private collection. It makes and eye catching and very impressive display specimen.
