This is a very impressive three hump mastodon tooth with long roots still intact. It has stunning glossy black enamel with a high crown showing minimal wear. It is very rare to find a mastodon tooth with roots this long still intact. It's nothing short of a miracle that the roots on this tooth survived the mineralization process and the many thousands of years. Museum quality specimen.
