This is a beyond rare scimitar-toothed cat upper incisor tooth (I2). This species is described as Dinobastis in Hulbert's Fossil Vertebrates of Florida, but that has since been determined to be a junior synonym for Homotherium. The enamel is in pretty great shape with glossy enamel. The cusp shows the tell-tale course serrations - they were difficult to photograph but can clearly be seen in hand. This specimen is from our private collection. Overall, this specimen does have some damage, and it's a lot of money for an imperfect tooth, but it also may be the only example from this extremely rare species that you ever see for sale.
