This is a beyond rare North Florida gomphothere tooth. Gomphothere teeth are not terribly uncommon in south Florida, but are beyond rare in North Florida. Beautiful colorful enamel that shows well the classic gomphothere "finger print" designs in the enamel. Awesome wear pattern to the occlusal (chewing) surface that shows the beautiful clover pattern. Great wear on both the anterior and posterior edges from wearing against the other teeth, no enamel missing from damage. Pictures really do this specimen no justice - it is much nicer and more attractive in hand. Stunning specimen from a very rare location for this species.
