This is an absolutely top quality medial phalanx (toe bone) from a rare species of Miocene sloth. Found in the Bone Valley formation of a phosphate mine in Polk Co. Florida. Perfectly preserved specimen with ultra crisp features all around. No damage or erosion anywhere. This is the bone located directly behind the claw core. This is a great example from a very rare species - this is one of only a small handful of bones from this species that we have ever encountered.
