Yes, the typical "common name" for this species is "common snapping turtle", however they are quite uncommon to find as fossils. This is one of only a small handful of common snapping turtle mandibles that we've ever handled with both sides intact. This specimen was found in a clay deposit and shows incredible detail. Awesome example.
