This is a very rare and truly incredible museum quality piece. Pictures truly do it absolutely no justice. This is an juvenile mastodon lower tusk that is in exceptional condition. It is virtually fully intact, just missing a tiny bit from the proximal end, probably less than 1/2". Awesome wear pattern to the tip; the tip is intact with no damage or erosion. Attractive chocolate brown patina over the entire specimen. Heavily mineralized and rock solid, really remarkable state of preservation for tusk. This is the finest mastodon lower tusk that we have ever offered for sale. We probably should be holding onto this one for our private collection as it's better and more complete than the two we have; but we simply can't keep them all. Beyond rare specimen that is in exquisite condition.
