This is a very unusual frog tibia/fibula (leg) bone with a large pathological bony mass. This is likely the result of a healed injury. This is the first pathological frog bone that we have ever encountered. Frogs have so many natural predators that an injured individual is usually quickly eaten as prey before the injury has time to heal.
